I hope most of you realize by now that this invitation to return home is most likely a trap. If it is not, it may be an experiment to see how we'll react when presented with the opportunity to leave this place.

However, I admit the offer is tempting. The possible benefit may outweigh the risk. It is worth considering... though that is probably what they want us to think. I have to keep thinking it's a trap.

That seems to be the word on the street, all right. Hell, it's probably even true. Still, if there's even a snowball's chance... Dunno if I can pass it up, y'know?

I know. But there's always the risk of what they might do to those who take them up on the offer. Or nothing might happen, they just may be testing to see who is willing, if any, to stay here rather than go home.

Tch. They gotta test for that? I dunno. Even if it's a trap--which it probably is--what's the worst they can do? If they wanted to kill us, they would've already. And even if they do, I'd rather die trying to get back home than live as their pet lab rat.

If you think dying is the worst that they can do to you, you've got a lot to learn. But I know what you mean.

I'd rather not find out what worse they can do; that's the whole point. Shit...I guess taking 'em up on the offer'd be the same as cooperating with 'em, wouldn't it?

Dammit.

It's not as simple of a choice as it appears to be, is it? Ideally, we'd ignore these letters and not even discuss the option, not giving them the satisfaction of seeing how we react. But it's too late for that, now.

No it ain't. Going or staying...either way we could be giving the bastards what they want--and to hell with that.

[Sigh.]

Guess it's back to finding my own damn way home, then.

Yes, it seems as though that's the best option, for now.

...

Are you... doing all right here, otherwise? Found a place to stay yet?

Huh? Oh...uhh...yeah. I got a room in one of the apartment buildings for now. Ain't planning on getting too settled, though.

I wouldn't expect you to. Sometimes I wonder if I'm getting too... settled here.

I dunno. Maybe you are. Done anything to try and get the hell outta here lately?

Well, there ya go.

It is very strange how obvious this trap is... I hope they aren't planning something bigger.

[identity profile] rubyeyes-ryuhou.livejournal.com 2009-11-23 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
It makes me wonder how many people will actually go through with it.
akumanotrill: (calm)

[personal profile] akumanotrill 2009-11-23 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
... those who are desperate enough, I guess.

[identity profile] rubyeyes-ryuhou.livejournal.com 2009-11-26 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
Or foolish enough. People should know by now that they're probably planning something much worse for those who take their offer.

...though, if it is real, those of us who stay behind will be the fools.
akumanotrill: (worried)

[personal profile] akumanotrill 2009-11-26 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah...

So I take it that you're staying then, Ryuhou?

[identity profile] aphephobic.livejournal.com 2009-11-22 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
At least you've got enough sense to realize that much.

[identity profile] rubyeyes-ryuhou.livejournal.com 2009-11-23 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
I'm surprised that some people are even considering the offer.

[identity profile] aphephobic.livejournal.com 2009-11-23 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Of course they are. They're sheep.

[identity profile] goldenpathredux.livejournal.com 2009-11-22 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Traps within traps. There's a third option, I know it.

[identity profile] rubyeyes-ryuhou.livejournal.com 2009-11-23 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps we will find out when the foolish ones decide to take the offer.

[identity profile] nicht-ein-traum.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Trap or not, the letter created quite a ruckus.

[identity profile] rubyeyes-ryuhou.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
I think that was probably their intention all along.

[identity profile] nicht-ein-traum.livejournal.com 2009-11-24 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not surprised.
